 ue to the COVID-19 quarantine\, tertiary education in Greece was called to
  adapt to a new educational environment\, that of Synchronous Distance Lea
 rning. This adaptation also brought changes to laboratory courses\, such a
 s the Precision Agriculture lab course. During the pre-COVID 19 times\, co
 mmercial GIS software was the primary educational tool of the course. The 
 presentation captures the transition from commercial GIS to free and open-
 source GIS software as an educational tool for the needs of the "Precision
  Agriculture" course at the Department of Agriculture of the International
  Hellenic University.
