Mesh networks over LoRa
2023-10-21, 11:40–12:10 (Europe/Athens), Α111-113

In this talk, we'll do a quick dive on the
LoRa radio modulation technique (not
LoRaWAN) and then see how two FOSS projects use LoRa to create
(potentially off-grid) mesh networks. Specifically, we'll take a look at
Meshtastic and
Reticulum.

The two projects are quite different in scope, however both use the same
underlying radio protocol and similar hardware boards. We'll compare their
design decisions, look at their current state, explore projects build on top of
them, see how we can get involved and help develop them further.

I'm a SRE by trade, but my interests lie in security, decentralization, radio communications and hardware hacking.
