Experiences in developing systems-level software in Rust
2023-10-22, 10:50–11:20 (Europe/Athens), Α115-117

A quick 30' tour of how it feels to write software in Rust based on work done for two open source projects, a network canary service and a file management CLI tool. The presentation will go through the Rust learning process, the design & implementation of the two aforementioned software, the strong points and pains of the Rust ecosystem, and will finally highlight Rust's current place as a building block of trusted systems.
