Alexandros Karargyris co-chairs the Medical working group at MLCommons. The group has a mission to provide neutral benchmarking and best practices for Medical AI in an effort to circumvent negative effects of AI. In its short life span the group has grown to already support the largest federation of brain tumor segmentation as well as to plan its prospective AI studies. Previously he worked as a research lead at IHU Strasbourg in projects related to applications in the intersection of surgery and AI.  He also worked as a researcher at IBM and NIH for more than 10 years. His research interests lie in the space of medical imaging, machine learning and mobile health. He has contributed to healthcare commercial products and imaging solutions deployed in under-resourced areas. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.

Alexandros Kornilakis is a software engineer at the FORTH research center in Greece. His professional/research interests include web application development, cybersecurity and data science.

Mr. Charalampos Vassiliou has received a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of London, Queen Mary and Westfield College (UK) and M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Oxford (UK), specializing in Artificial Intelligence (AI). He is currently a Digital Transformation Strategy and Innovation Advisor at the Strategic Planning & Coordination Unit, Directorate for Digital Transformation and Digital Skills at the National Infrastructures for Research and Technology Network (GRNET S.A.), leading a group of skilled professionals in providing strategic advice in the design and implementation of public policies and services in the areas of digital governance and transformation, open governance and innovation in the public sector. This follows the appointment of Digital Transformation Advisor at the Hellenic Ministry of Digital Governance (Minister's Office, Mr. Kyriakos Pierrakakis). He is also a member of the Open Technologies Alliance (GFOSS) Working Group for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
He has actively participated in the development of the Digital Transformation Book (DTB) as well as other projects such as the Greek Artificial Intelligence Strategy, Digital Capabilities projects, etc. He has been a member of working groups as a digital health expert for DG SANTE on the European Health Data Space and for ECDC on digital surveillance systems for infectious diseases, and quite recently appointed member of the newly established Working Group (WG) at Greek Ministry of Health, to support the implementation of the European Health Data Space in Greece.

Chrysostomos Galatoulas is a DevOps Engineer at Epignosis Learning Technologies, with a knack for containerization, infrastructure-as-code, serverless architecture, and diving into AWS cloud-based technologies. He has contributed to improving development pipelines at Epignosis and helping his team get a better grasp of cloud tech.

Dimitrios Glynos holds a PhD in Informatics from the University of Piraeus. He currently works as Head of Engineering at CENSUS (census-labs.com), a company that performs security assessments on products and organizations. In the past he has worked as a software developer, systems administrator, security consultant and part-time lecturer (on undergraduate "UNIX systems programming" and postgraduate "Software Security" courses).

Hi! I am Foivos (pronounced [‘fivos]) Zakkak and I am a Software Engineer in Red Hat’s Java platform team working on GraalVM and Mandrel. Prior to joining Red Hat I spent 9.5 years as a post-graduate and post-doctoral researcher. I worked at the Advanced Processor Technologies (APT) group of the University of Manchester where I led the development of the Maxine VM, a metacircular Java-in-Java VM. Before that I worked at the Computer Architecture and VLSI Systems Laboratory (CARV) of FORTH-ICS, where in the context of the GreenVM project, I developed DiSquawk, a Java Virtual Machine (JVM) that targets non-cache-coherent architectures. During my post-graduate studies I also explored compile time optimizations for task-based runtime systems and got involved in the development and performance analysis process of various task-based runtime systems.

Fotis is a systems engineer with a strong focus on R&D for production‑grade software. He enjoys building distributed storage systems, developing automation tools, and designing hyperconverged infrastructures.

He obtained his PhD in Computer Science from Paris Saclay and has received prestigious fellowships, including the CERN Fellowship, MSCA Innovative Training Network, and MSCA Individual Fellowship. Currently, he leads the cloud and infrastructure services at SuperDuperDB.

Dr. George Christou received his BSc, MSc and Ph.D degree in
Computer Science from the University of Crete in
2014 and 2017 respectively. He has been an undergraduate researcher in the Institute of

Moysis is a postdoctoral researcher in the Laboratory for Internet Computing (LInC) at the University of Cyprus. Nick has multiple contributions in open source projects, including various subsystems of the Linux kernel, and is currently working on the bringup, validation, and optimization process of various RISC-V prototypes of the European Processor Initiative (EPI). Nikolaos Triantafyllis, PhD candidate, (male) holds the position of HPC high-level Support Engineer in GRNET. Currently, he is involved in the Copernicus - eoSC AnaLytics Engine (C-SCALE) and EOSC-Future EU research projects. Before that, he was engaged in several EU and national research projects such as the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) under the National Observatory of Athens (NOA). He is the main developer of an HPC-oriented application for automatic moment tensor retrieval in real-time, operationally in use by the Institute of Geodynamics (GI) of NOA, which received an award from the EGU General Assembly 2021. Until lately, he held the position of the Technical Commission at the European Integrated Data Archive (EIDA) in GI-NOA, while in the past, he participated in software development projects on security-bound applications at the Cyber Defense Department of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff. Spyridon Chavlis received his diploma degree (equivalent to M.Eng.) in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Athens, Greece, in 2011, his M.Sc. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Imperial College London, London, U.K., in 2013, and his Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Crete, Heraklion, Greece, in 2018. During his doctoral studies, he developed a computational model of the hippocampal dentate gyrus examining the role of dendrites in the pattern separation mnemonic process. He is a Postdoctoral Researcher in computational neuroscience with the Poirazi Lab, IMBB-FORTH.
