Open Source Software (OSS) may have "won", but then... how did it end up locked away inside a non-open-source platform (GitHub)?

In this talk (which does not assume a specific technical expertise or years of experience in the field), we will:
- go back to basics and compare OSS vs. non-OSS parts of our stack (Git vs. GitHub),
- explore the main risks with hosting all of our open source code in a single, proprietary, platform (what if Musk buys GitHub),
- look at past attempts to address this problem until today,
- examine new efforts around de-centralisation of open source hosting.
